ELECTRICAL ENGINEER



Purpose and Scope

The Electrical Engineer is primarily responsible to ensure the preparation of basic and detailed engineering design, modeling and analysis of engineering requirements for a given project, and to liaise with the client, the project team, vendors and site establishment to ensure conformity of electrical engineering activities with the overall project plan, client requirements, and the company Quality Policy.

Key Responsibilities

1.Executing electrical engineering design for power, earthing and lighting of industrial and commercial facilities as instructed by Lead Electrical Engineers or Project Engineers / Managers. This entails:

Preparation of basic design, FEED and detailed design of the electrical part of the project. Specific design procedures for the Electrical Design Checking practice are as defined in GE A346-01
Preparation of electrical load list and equipment list
Preparation of single line diagrams, for designer / draughtsman to draw, and monitoring progress at drawing / drafting execution level
Preparation of Specifications / Datasheets of electrical equipment's
Preparation of requisitions for electrical equipment's
Review of bids and preparation of TBE and TBT
Review and commenting on vendor drawings and documents,
Review of drawings from other Disciplines. Design review procedures are as per GENERAL WORKING PROCEDURE. Specific design procedures for the Electrical Design Checking practice are as defined in GE A346-01.
2.Definition of tasks and supervision of personnel such as Designers and Draftsmen assigned to the team, including checking of drawings produced. Final checking of drawings shall be by the Lead Discipline Engineer.

3.Coordination with Engineers from other Disciplines for the inter-disciplinary tasks stated in Protocol General Section 1.3 and in GENERAL WORKING PROCEDURE.

4.Assisting in the planning and implementation of die Project to meet schedule and budget requirements.

5.Assisting in the management, maintenance and control of documents and data required for the good execution of the work. Document Control procedures are as defined in GENERAL WORKING PROCEDURE.

6.Co-ordination with Project and client, subcontractors and/or suppliers.

7.Providing electrical support to site engineers on technical query' issues

8.Coordination with client engineers on electrical engineering issues

9.Providing support in the electrical area for procurement activities

10.Assisting in the preparation of project proposals and pre-qualification documents in what relates to Electrical engineering design (preparation of calculations notes, specifications, data sheets, reports, material requisitions, etc, as defined by the Lead Discipline Engineer).

11.Contributing towards, maintaining and implementing both company and client HSE Management System objectives and procedures, as specified in GENERAL WORKING PROCEDURE A 302 -16 2 and the HSE Manual 1357 A -HSEM - 2

12.Complying with the applicable company procedures for the Engineering Department and the Electrical Discipline as they are documented in DEPARTMENT WORKING PROCEDURE respectively, as well as those procedures in the references listed therein.

Operational Duties:

Discipline Engineer on Projects. Functions are as per project scope and as assigned by the Lead Discipline Engineer and Project Manager /Project Engineer.

As QMR, whenever assigned, responsible to ensure that the TPME quality system is understood by Discipline members and that the Quality Management System is implemented.

As HSE Representative, whenever assigned, responsible to ensure that the TPME HSE Management system is understood and implemented by Discipline members.

Educational Requirements:

BSc in Electrical Engineering with Electrical Power Background

Experience Requirement:

Total of 5 years experience

Specific Experience Areas:

2 to 3 years Engineer in Oil&Gas/Petrochemical environment
1 to 2 years Experience in the Power Generation/transmission field
4 to 5 years experience in Power Distribution.
Proven experience in:

Consistent experience in the preparation of specifications/datasheets/calculation notes and single line diagrams in an Oil&Gas environment

Computer Skills:

Candidate should posses basic knowledge of:MS Office
